What Splosch is

Splosch is a desktop pet experience that connects to a wearable account, reads activity and sleep data, computes a wellbeing state, and sends that state to a paired device.

Who controls your data

For this prototype, Splosch is the data controller for personal data collected through splosch.com and related prototype services.

What data we collect

Splosch may collect and store:

• basic account identifiers needed to link a WHOOP account
• selected character and device pairing choices
• wearable-derived metrics such as sleep score, movement, workouts, and steps
• derived pet state snapshots and event history
• device telemetry such as firmware version, battery level, last seen time, and Wi-Fi RSSI
• OAuth tokens needed to access wearable data on the user’s behalf

How we use data

• to manage interest-list signups and send launch updates if you ask for them
• to authenticate the user with WHOOP
• to sync wearable data and calculate the current pet state
• to pair and authenticate the hardware device
• to deliver state updates and event cues to the device
• to troubleshoot prototype behavior and connection issues

Lawful bases

For this prototype, Splosch expects to rely on the following lawful bases:

• consent for interest-list emails and optional wearable account linking
• performance of a contract or pre-contract steps to operate the paired-device experience
• legitimate interests to secure, maintain, and improve the prototype service

Where Splosch processes wearable or wellbeing information that counts as health data, it will rely on an Article 9 special-category condition in addition to a lawful basis. For this prototype, that condition is intended to be your explicit consent.

Where data is stored

Backend data is stored in infrastructure controlled by the project operator. Storage architecture may change as Splosch evolves.

Who data is shared with

Splosch may share data with service providers that help operate the prototype, such as:

• hosting and infrastructure providers
• Formspree for interest-form submissions
• Google Analytics for basic website usage measurement, if enabled on the site
• wearable platform providers such as WHOOP when you choose to connect them

WHOOP data access

If you connect a WHOOP account, Splosch will request access to wearable data through WHOOP’s OAuth flow and APIs. That access is used only to support the Splosch experience, including syncing data, generating pet state, and updating the paired device.

Sharing

Splosch is not designed as an ad network, data marketplace, or social sharing platform. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Interest-list signup data is kept until you unsubscribe, ask for deletion, or the signup list is no longer needed. Prototype service and device data is kept while the prototype is active and for a limited period afterwards to support debugging, continuity, and record-keeping. Splosch aims to review stored prototype data at least every 12 months.

Security

Reasonable efforts are made to protect data, but no service can promise absolute security.

Your choices

• you can choose whether to connect a WHOOP account
• you can unpair or reprovision the device
• you can request that stored data be cleared by the project operator
• you can unsubscribe from launch or product emails at any time

Your rights

Depending on where you are and how Splosch uses your data, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or transfer personal data, and to withdraw consent where consent is relied on.

You can raise a request at privacy@splosch.com. If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies and website tracking

Splosch may use Google Analytics to understand basic website traffic and page usage, such as visits, approximate geography, device/browser type, and page interactions. Splosch does not use this website tracking for advertising personalization.

If analytics settings, cookie usage, or consent requirements change, Splosch will update this policy and any related cookie notice.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated as Splosch evolves, especially if storage, authentication, analytics, or deployment practices change.
